Fighting for Redemption - Part 4

“But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding me for twenty-one days; then behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia.”

Daniel 10:13

When we choose to fight for redemption we need to understand two things. First, we will be resisted and, secondly, we need to persevere. In the above scripture Daniel had been humbly praying without an answer. Yet as he persevered, the battle in the heavens became personal. God didn't hesitate to send Michael to fight to get the answer to Daniel.

I can't even imagine what God has done to get some of my prayers answered. After coming to Jesus, I moved back to a town that I was run out of for dealing drugs. My mind was set on helping those that I once did harm to. It was no easy task. Persevering in prayer and not shrinking back from resistance brought about redemption that only God could do. He brought me from being a troublesome drug dealer to having a fruitful outreach, which resulted in the mayor making me the Police Chaplain. No matter how ridiculous the situation may look, the Father is fighting for us! Be humble and pray with persistence no matter how long it takes to get the answer!

Lord, we come to You today asking You to strengthen our praying hearts. We grow weary and apart from Your strength we will give up before we receive our breakthrough. We know that You are fighting for us and with Your help redemption is sure to come! Amen.
